CWM Hymn on New SoundForth CD

SoundForth’s latest CD (which premiered in a concert at BJU last night) is available online at a discounted price for a limited time. It has a number of powerful pieces by gifted friends of mine, including composers Molly IjamesDan Forrest, and James Koerts and lyricist Eileen Berry. Of course, the choir was led by my dear friend and one of my mentors, Warren Cook. I’m especially excited to have a recording of Dan’s O God, Beyond All Praising, which uses a portion of Holst’s Jupiter, one of my favorite tunes.

The CD also includes Molly’s new piece A Triune Prayer (available as an ocatvo from Beckenhorst and as a congregational hymn from CWM), for which I wrote the text (below). It’s a joy to have even a small part in such a project. Grace.

You can hear samples, watch a video, and order the CD here. You can download the entire album or buy individual tracks here.

A Triune Prayer

Blessed Father, hear our cry.
Cast out sin, but draw us nigh.
Not for merit—we have none—
For Your mercy, for Your Son.

Blessed Jesus, make our plea.
In Your name to God we flee;
Through Your blood we seek His face;
By Your priesthood claim His grace.

Blessed Spirit, meet our need;
In our silence intercede.
Translate groans we cannot speak;
Heal the broken, help the weak.

Bridge:
Keep our thoughts, which run astray.
Curb our doubts; increase our faith!

Triune God, please grant our prayer
As Your glory we declare.
May Your promised kingdom come;
May Your will on earth be done.
