Update from Brazil

Here is an update from my brother Dan. Sounds like they’re ministering as usual. Please continue praying, as you think of it.

BTW, I’m out of town for a few days, so I won’t be posting or replying for a bit.

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you for the outpouring of prayer on our behalf over the last week. It seems impossible that it was just last Wednesday night that our neighbor, Daniel was shot in his pharmacy across the street from the church. Daniel is still in a coma after having the bullet removed from his brain. Please continue to pray with us for Daniel, Adriane (his wife), and Daví (his brother).

We are doing really well. No cancelled services. I was back in Vila Rica the very next day and into the evening for regular discipleship classes. It was good to get back on the horse, so to speak. Youth group Saturday, was exciting because Elisabeth is finally able to participate. Yes, I have a thirteen year old. It was also exciting because Paulo, whose father was killed last week, came in a very drunken state. Please continue to pray for his salvation.

We have had a family from our neighborhood in church the last two weeks. Micah invited his friend David, and to our surprise his whole family came. Eduardo teaches at the Federal University and has a doctorate in DNA stuff from somewhere in England. His wife Juliana is Italian. Pray for their salvation. Eduardo wants to help the church grow and is very excited. He did blink a couple of times though when I shared about the attempted murder of Daniel.

We leave for Fortaleza again in just five hours, so I must sleep. Sorry that this is poorly organized and thank you again for your prayers.

His servants and your co-laborers,

Dan & Linda

  1. May the blessings of the Almighty continue to be with this family. May He grant the salvation of these to whom this family is a witness to the love of Christ, and may we continue to pray for these whom You have called to be a testimony in Brazil. Be with Daniel and his family, and allow him to recover to the glory of Christ’s healing power. May the Lord give you peace, Chris, as you also minister to these your family in blood and Spirit. In the name of Christ our Savior, Amen.

Thank you for the update, Chris. I continue to have your brother and his family on my prayer list right near the top. I have never met you (although, I guess vicariously, as Doug [CBC, Columbus] is my younger brother [although I’m nothing like him!]), but you have been a testimony of the love of God to me through your writings. Blessings to you.
