Gracie is as Good as New!

GraceThanks to those of you who prayed for Grace’s cardiologist appointment this morning. First, she was a doll, never making a peep despite being prodded and wired throughout her EKG and echo-cardiogram. That was a blessing.

Far better, the cardiologist said that her VSD (the small hole in her heart) has entirely closed! To quote the old chorus, it is “g-o-n-e: GONE!” Praise the Lord!

Thanks for praying with us. Now rejoice with us!

(I’ll refrain from commenting on the chorus…) ;)

  4. When I was less than 2 months old, my mom (a nurse) recognized that I was struggling to breathe, and rushed me to the hospital in Painesville (I am originally from Mentor). The doctor took an x-ray of my lungs, and he saw that there was a cyst in my right lung that was causing me to sufficate, and I was slowing dying.

The doctor called every town between Cleveland, and Painesville to let the police know he was having an ambulance rush me to the Cleveland Rainbow Baby’s and Children’s Hospital (this is before State Route 2 was a divided highway). Every police department closed every cross street that intersected with Federal Route 20 so the ambulance could make it quickly. We were there in less than 20 minutes.

As soon as we made it to the hospital, I was rushed into emergency surgery where the doctor removed 1/3rd of my right lung, leaving me a large scar from the middle of my back, all the way under my right arm where it ends under my right breast. I also have an indentation in my right side where there was an air hose placed into the lung so I could breathe.

I praise the Lord He can take care of this small hole in your daughter because He CERTAINLY can take care of the BIG problem with my right lung.

BTW, are you aware that science has PROVED that prayer does not work? Tell that to my mom and dad, and tell it to ALL who prayed for your daughter including Gracie’s mom and dad!!

  5. Hi Chris,

I am praising and thanking the LORD for the great news on your daughter’s healing. This is a situation near and dear to my heart, as my almost six-year-old son, Noah, has both an ASV and VSD in his heart. Despite having two holes in his physical heart, his spiritual heart has been restored, as Noah was saved last summer during our church’s Neighborhood Bible Time (we attend Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Ohio).

I enjoy reading your posts. Thank you for the time you take to blog.

    Jay

  6. Jay, thank you for rejoicing with us. Thank you for posting.

I have another daughter, the blonde almost-five-year-old, who still has a VSD. I’ll pray for yours when I pray for mine, and you do the same. I think we’re still awaiting the Lord’s giving her a “heart of flesh” in a spiritual sense, too.

If you get a chance, I’d be glad to hear how you found MTC. I’m glad you did. God bless you as you raise your little one(s) for Him!

    Chris
