This week my family enjoyed a few days at Middle Bass Island, a vacation place on lake Erie—a trip that included parasailing! Here’s a short video I took while being dragged around by a boat some 300-plus feet below me:

It’s early in the season, and sports don’t matter anyway, but this is pretty amazing:
“Cleveland starters have pitched 43 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings since Friday.” (from Sportsline.com)
They’ve already recorded a MLB-leading 7 shutouts. The Tribe’s hitting hasn’t been so good thus far, but that’s some crazy pitching.

I’ve collected a few worthwhile links, so I thought I’d string them together into this casserole of a post.

A few similar pics are available here.
God has been exceedingly good to me!

The Cleveland Indians, up 2-1 on the Red Sox (and their $145M payroll) after beating the Yankees (and their almost $189M payroll), have the 19th highest payroll in the Bigs at under $68M. Yet, the nucleus of their team is signed for long-term success. Nice.
Here’s another way of looking at it. Cleveland’s entire roster [...]

By the end of this series Hafner, Sizemore, Sabathia and Carmona will be household names, and Cleveland will have mowed down its second East Coast bankroll this postseason.
Get used to us. We’re built to last. Go Tribe!

No Division I-AA team has ever beaten a ranked Division I-A team. Ever. Until now. Thud.
Appalachian State 34, Michigan 32.
Yes: Appalachian State. I had to look up the correct way to spell it. And it happened at Mulligan. Er, Michigan. In front of 107,000 fans. And they were ranked #5.
Breaks my heart. [...]
