On Good Friday, March 21, 2008, believers from at least 9 fundamental churches in Northeast Ohio will meet at the 8th Annual Passion Service in remembrance of Christ’s death for sinners. The service is hosted by Tri-County Bible Church and has become a highlight on the calendars of churches in this area. It’s a rich time of corporate worship in which our Savior is exalted through the ministry of several choirs, the reading of Scripture, a Christ-centered sermon, fellowship around the Lord’s Table, and stirring and vibrant congregational singing.
The service is being held in the beautiful Mentor Fine Arts Center at Mentor High School (directions here) at 7:00pm and will be followed by a time of refreshments. This year’s sermon is being preached by my good friend Pastor Tim Potter of Grace Church of Mentor, the church responsible for planting 4 of the other churches participating in the worship service. If you’re from Northeast Ohio, please plan to join us! Also, print out several invitations to distribute to friends, neighbors, and coworkers. (The invitation pdf can be found here.)
If you’re not from Northeast Ohio, consider planning a Passion Service like this in your area! Follow it up in November with a Combined Thanksgiving Service, as well. What a joy it is to worship with like-minded believers from other local churches!
May the Lord be magnified as we rejoice in His great Gospel together!
