…and we’re still smiling, anyway. And Mommy looks like a million bucks!!

Our good friend Craig Krivoy recently had us in for a photo shoot in his basement. He used a new-fangled technique which amounted to getting us to act normal: snuggling, smooching, tickling, etc. The result? A lot of fun and some [...]

This thought from John Piper regarding his father caught my attention today:
“My father was one of the most intense people I’ve ever known when he was in the pulpit and perhaps the happiest person I’ve ever known when he was at the dinner table. I’ve never thought those things were in conflict, and they always [...]

We’ve used Greg Habegger’s new tune for His Robes for Mine for several weeks now, and it’s gone well. However, today we used an update of the new version that was tweaked a bit to make it more “congregation-friendly.” We lowered it and simplified the end of the chorus by eliminating the 2/4 bar. Also, [...]

I came across a powerful quote on the danger of bitterness last week while studying 1 John 3:10-18. The passage contrasts Cain-like hatred with Christ-like love. John uses Cain and Christ as the most extreme examples of hatred and love—one the taker of a life, and the other the giver of a life. He then [...]

Anyone else get a kick out of the fact that CBS is airing its special news report “The Age of Warming” tonight, while most of the country is in a deep-freeze that would make the Abominable Snowman shiver?
Don’t miss the first line of the web version:
“If you were waiting for the day global warming would [...]

TCBC’s mission statement has directed our ministry from our first Bible study over a decade ago. I reproduce it here for your edification and thoughts:
“Tri-County Bible Church exists to glorify God by exalting the Lord, evangelizing the lost, and edifying the body of Christ. Every ministry we carry out is designed to meet that objective, [...]

It’s been a long, long time since we’ve done a WSS, and I could use some grins on my day off.
Here’s what you do: Provide a comical caption for the photo below. The person who comes up with the winning caption will receive a lifetime subscription to MTC. Just two rules: don’t be irreverent [...]

I’ve commented before (here) that I think A. W. Pink’s Life of David is overrated. However, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about David’s confession and forgiveness today. The chapters beautifully describe the grace of God in forgiving David’s (and our) sins. Pink rejoices in the gospel, and you can’t help but rejoice with Him. Here’s a [...]

I enjoyed this from Thabiti Anyabwile. It reminded me of this. And this.
So deep down, Don is a Calvinist, albeit one in denial. I love it.
