Here is an update from my brother Dan. Sounds like they’re ministering as usual. Please continue praying, as you think of it.
BTW, I’m out of town for a few days, so I won’t be posting or replying for a bit.
_________
Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you for the outpouring of prayer on our behalf over the [...]

A seven-year-old church doesn't have a lot of history to celebrate, and it's important to establish some annual traditions for a new church family. We have many:
Some are evangelistic: we pass out balloons and tracts each year around July 4th, then enjoy the fireworks together; we pass out popsicles and tracts at our community's [...]

I've been away from the internet for a while due to my mother's visit from out of state and a busy weekend of ministry.
Anyway, let's hear it: what did you or your pastor teach on this weekend? Also, I'd still be interested in any other thoughts on the authority of Christ and Satan have over [...]

Many of you will remember that my brother Dan, a missionary to Brazil, came home for 6 months last year following the shooting of fellow-missionary John Leonard. Dan’s family has endured threats, robberies and break-ins of their own, as well. He has since returned to Brazil, and has ministered faithfully despite the danger. [...]

I’m preparing for an upcoming series on worship, so I logged on to sermonaudio.com and took a tour of the sermons available under the “Worship” topic. The results were less than inspiring. In fact, they’re troubling to me. It’s not that there aren’t any sermons there; it’s that (IMO) an inordinate number of the sermons [...]

It's been a busy day for cultural & entertainment issues. I'm wondering what to think of the following letter which just arrived in my inbox from D. James Kennedy's Center for Reclaiming America for Christ. Shall Christians revolt? Is it time to call our Congerssmen? Is Hollywood finally "going too far"? [...]

I've made too many posts this week…certainly too many referring readers to media outlets. That said, I just couldn't resist posting this one (video link), which I came across during lunch.
FOX News' morning show has a segment focusing on an article that is running in Life magazine entitled "America's Coolest Churches" (article link). [...]

This report (entitled "Faith in Faith") from FOX News is insightful. (It is a video, dial-up users.) The fact that so many "faith-based" movies are being released is not an indication of a Hollywood-based revival, but of a Hollywood-based recession. Apparently, Hollywood has fallen on hard times. Fortunately for filmmakers, Christians [...]

According to his mother, 26-year-old Kevin Ray Underwood, who murdered and planned to eat a 10-year-old girl, "was always a wonderful boy."
Obviously. How could such a good boy do such a bad thing?? So much for the doctrine of total depravity.
Terrible. Sad. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
