“Here goes nothing” is what someone says before trying something for the first time. It often precedes a thud. It can mean “I don’t know what I’m doing” or ”Please, someone, stop me!” or “I hope this doesn’t hurt.” When it comes to this upstart blog, all three meanings apply.
So why do it? Because a friend suggested it. Because I like to talk & write. Most importantly, because ideas matter, and I have a few that I’m willing to share. (I hope this doesn’t hurt.)
Comments are welcome. Just be nice, especially to me.
“Here goes nothing.” (Which may be a prophecy about the value of the content to come. We’ll see.)

Welcome!
Give prizes. That is key.
Hey, Joel. I’m sure that you meant to say “promise” prizes. :-)
Hey, I was wondering why I haven’t read you in recent weeks (months?) over at SI. . . now you’re writing your own blog! Hope to read more of your two cents in 2006.
Tell your assistant pastor hello for me!
Chris,
Let me encourage you not to be afraid to use sarcasm once in a while. I know how hard that will be for you, but some of us enjoy it. Besides, it’s one of those rhetorical devices that can be such fun in the blog-world — just ask Bixby and Bauder!
Some people can get away with some things. I suggest you GIVE prizes.
Welcome, Chris!;)
Hello, Greg, Joel, Eric, Ken & Jesse! As Ryan would say, “Thanks for stopping by.”
It’s been a while, Ken! BTW, my problem isn’t fear of using sarcasm…it’s trying not to be downright caustic. I’ll try to be careful.
Eric, I will indeed tell your brother-in-law and our new pastor “hello.” Trust that you’re well.
Greg, thanks for your “push” off the cliff and help learning how to fall stylishly. :-)
